The International Early Music Course (CIMA-ESMAE) had its first edition in 2003, heralding the creation of the ESMAE Early Music Department. The course has been held every year at different places like ESMAE, ESML, Tibães Monastery and the Royal Palace in Mafra. Hundreds of students from all over the world have since attended the course, particularly from Europe and Latin America.
The CIMA-ESMAE is an opportunity not only for the early music performers to develop their skills with highly specialized teachers and to participate in stimulating collective projects, but also for any musician who whishes to have their first experience with historical instruments.
